Niagara Frontier Trans. Auth.-PAL updates weight requirement

Great news here in the Buffalo/Niagara region!!!!

Niagara Frontier Transit Authority -- Paratransit Access Line (NFTA-PAL) has finally come into the 21st Century by accepting the fact that they were discriminating against individuals in the disabled community whose weight, combined with that of their wheelchairs, exceeded 600 pounds. The Americans with Disabilities Act had the 600 pound requirement put in it to establish a base weight that a transit authority bus' wheelchair lift should be able to lift, not to be used as a cap to exclude a part of the disabled community from others.

Now that NFTA-PAL has increased that requirement to 800 pounds, I offer my congratulations to them. Kudos NFTA-PAL...
